COVID-19 Update: HBH is in full lockdown – Alert Level 3
HBH is back in full lockdown.
Tonight the government put Auckland into Level 3 and announced that all aged residential care facilities had to go into total lockdown.
This means that until further notice:
- No visitors to the care facility. This includes family members residing in our apartments.
- Residents may not leave the facility unless it is for urgent medical reasons. Non urgent medical/clinic appointments will be cancelled/rescheduled.
- We are restricting movement within the facility. Residents will remain within their own community and there will be no mingling. This is to reduce chances of any infection spreading if it were to occur.
Respite care: this is cancelled for two weeks from today. We will reassess after that.
Day Programme: is closed
Virtual Village programmes: programme and activities cannot take place during Level 3.
We know it is frustrating and a little scary to be back in lockdown again. Be assured that we will be doing everything we can to ensure everyone is safe, well and happy. We have done this before – we got through last time and will get through this time.
We do not yet know how long this lockdown will last for and aged care may be required to be in lockdown for longer than the rest of the community.
Meanwhile if you have any questions or concerns please contact the Team Leader/RN in charge of your community.
Working together and with patience and kindness we will get through this safe and well.
Kind regards
