Apartments

HBH Senior Living’s spacious apartments offer the best of both worlds: the freedom to live independently, with the benefits of living in a caring, close-knit community. You can choose from any or all of our residential services, such as activities, outings, meals, home help and some basic nursing care. And because maintenance is taken care of, you’ll have more time to do the things you love.

Care philosophy

To give older people the opportunity to maintain their independence and live with dignity and safety in their own home, knowing that support and nursing care is right at hand if required.

Living space

One- to two-bedroom apartments include full security and internal lift access from the car park. All apartments have a fresh, modern interior design with easy flow and convenient access to amenities.

Services available

Residents must be able to live independently, but are welcome to use their DHB funded home support within their apartment (if they are eligible for these services). While HBH doesn’t offer fully serviced apartments we do provide support services such as housework, medication administration and meal delivery. Apartment owners can choose the frequency and level of these services.

Community

Our apartments are just a five-minute drive from Howick Village, and a mini bus is available to take you shopping and on outings. An on-site hairdresser, men’s shed and weekly shopping bus are available for residents, as well as a range of regular social functions and activities (coordinated by our Social Coordinator). The HBH Senior Living Day Programme is also available to apartment residents (DHB funding criteria applies).

Wellbeing

We offer chaplaincy and twice weekly church services on site in the adjoining rest home and hospital. All apartments have emergency call buttons in every room and a registered nurse is available by phone for advice 24/7.

HBH Senior Living is an accredited member of the Retirement Villages Association of NZ.

Additional care available

  • Housework (weekly cleaning, spring clean or one-off clean, bed making, linen changing, laundry).
  • Dining options (dine in the dining room or have meals delivered to your apartment).
  • Basic nursing care.
  • 24/7 Registered Nurse emergency response and phone advice.
  • Apartment residents have priority for access to rest home and hospital (subject to suitable room availability).
  • If you qualify for DHB funded home support, you can bring this with you or HBH can provide a range of home support services.

Cost

Apartments are owned by residents by way of an Occupational Right Agreement (ORA), with a monthly management fee (reviewed annually). Please email us to find out more information.
